Finally a personal homepage smarter than Yahoo

Filed Under (GTD, Software) by Susy on 08-12-2005

Protopage is a cool personal start page based on AJAX. Okay, I know that AJAX is the topic du jour right now along with Web 2.0, but it really is a nice personalized webpage. Among the features I really like is the ability to add sticky notes. Sticky notes are my bestest friends in the world. Of course you also have the ability to include rss feeds, bookmarks, and make your page public or private. Protopage definitely addresses a need of mine to be able to access all my critical things at multiple computers without having to switch from webapp to webapp. I keep a list of next actions along with some of my favorite bookmarks. Very cool.

WebnoteHappy Lite

I’m battling a stomach virus here so this post will be fairly short. I just want to plug a cool new app: WebnoteHappy Lite. It’s kind of like del.icio.us except that it allows you to tag your local links and make searchable notes about them. It’s nice when you want to manage your bookmarks but not let the rest of the world know the depths of your obsession for teapots. ; )

If enough people complain, they will make it.

Nokia has announced the 9300i which has the same size as the 9300 but has added wi-fi. It’s kind of funny since I was complaining about the lack of wi-fi in phones. I really doubt that Nokia is listening, but on the off chance that they are: please, please, please, please add Mac support. We will love you and worship you and make you cookies!

Nokia also has another cool phone coming out, the 3250 which features an integrated camera and music player. The memory capacity can be expanded up to 1 GB, and it comes in with black, silver, pink, and green faceplates and looks much cooler than the ROKR. A video can be found here. The phone will also integrate with Nokia’s Lifeblog software.
